The British Council has appointed Helen Murley as its new Global Director of Human Resources (HR).
Helen will join the British Council’s Executive and Management boards and lead the British Council’s global network of HR professionals. She started, based in London, on 7 May.
Ms Murley has held a wide range of senior management roles where she has shaped corporate strategy and helped organisations to develop and grow. She has led international teams and has a particular knowledge of developing organisations and talent at all levels.
Ms Murley began her career as a teacher and has just completed a period as the interim Head of Organisational Development at Post Office Ltd. Over the last few years she has worked with Balfour Beatty Construction, Prudential UK and the University of Cambridge in senior roles. Prior to these posts, Ms Murley was at BAA from 2002 to 2009 where latterly she was Corporate Responsibility and Environment Director.
