Damon is a researcher at the British Council, with a wealth of experience in organising and leading webinars, academic conferences, and events to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange. Prior to joining the British Council, Damon worked extensively in higher education, supporting international students across undergraduate, master’s, and PhD courses. During this time, he contributed significantly to event planning, including helping students build confidence with language outside the classroom and running teacher training sessions. 

 

Damon’s previous roles in universities included designing and delivering English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and academic study skills courses, with a particular focus on promoting equity and accessibility in language testing. His experience includes teaching academic skills such as writing, presenting, and researching, as well as mentoring students at all academic levels. Damon also has a strong background in training staff and supporting teachers in integrating technology into classroom settings. 

 

Additionally, Damon has been actively involved in research on the Equality Act, policy implementation, and enactment, alongside working with various international academic institutions to enhance learning experiences for diverse student groups.
