We are hosting a 2-day conference with campus tours and networking sessions to kick start TNE collaborations between UK HEIs and the University of Bucharest, Romania’s largest HE institution.

Romania is a strongly emerging HE market with potential for TNE growth. This is likely to increase post Brexit when access to financial aid and visa restrictions might make it more difficult for students to come to the UK. Joint and dual degree programmes have been established by Romania’s leading public universities, Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj and University of Bucharest. Mostly, these are offered in partnership with German and American, but also with some British and other universities.

The British Council Romania has successfully brokered partnerships between UK and Romanian HEIs. With the University of Bucharest as partner, we are inviting HE leaders and influencers to explore opportunities for partnerships in priority areas for the UK and Romania. We will share best practices examples across a wide spectrum of TNE provision (i.e. joint degrees, twinning, distance, articulation, and franchised programmes), discuss regulatory frameworks, and aim to initiate new partnerships, with a focus on research cooperation, Erasmus+, and staff exchanges.

For further details, please check the event page on British Council Romania website and view the programme.
