This will be a panel event, with speakers from around the world, followed by questions from the audience.
Aabid Hussain Khan is Head of School at Abdul Kadir Molla International school in Bangladesh. The mission of the school is to raise education levels in semi-urban and rural areas.
Aabid has 23 years experience of teaching subjects including Sciences, Biology and Environment studies in countries such as India, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
He has a love of nature and tries to develop an understanding of environmental issues in his students. You can follow Aabid on LinkedIn.
Matt Larsen-Daw is Education Manager for WWF-UK. He is responsible for WWF-UK’s schools strategy and live learning programme, and previously designed and delivered the global education programme around the Our Planet nature series and the feature film David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet. Matt sits on the Sustainable Schools Coalition behind the Let’s Go Zero 2030 campaign, and is a member of the Future Proof Ed Consortium seeking reform in education to enable a sustainable future.
His previous experience includes leading the development and launch of the UK Charter for Trees, Woods and People, and in enabling the involvement of issue-affected communities around the world in advocacy and decision-making through participatory photography. Matt is also Chair of the socio-educational charity HVP Nepal-UK.
Tracy Osuo is the Professional Development and Partnerships Manager in Sub Saharan Africa for the British Council’s flagship schools programme Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning. She is based in Uganda. Her role involves mentoring colleagues in positioning, adapting and implementation of the Professional Development and Professional Partnerships work streams within the programme.
Keri Reid MBE has worked in the teaching profession for over 20 years and is Principal Teacher of a rural primary school in Scotland. Keri is an International Schools Award co-ordinator and she has involved her school in several Connecting Classrooms programmes. She has worked to ensure her school maintain their top awards in International Schools, Children’s Rights and Fair Trade.
Keri is currently studying towards an EdD within the field of Learning for Sustainability through international school partnerships.
