Yohannes’ idea, Hulujebe, is a low-cost hydroelectric generator, providing rural communities with a clean energy source. He notes that many communities that do not have access to electricity rely on firewood as an energy source. One Hulujebe hydroelectric generator can be used to pump water for agriculture and power lights for 30 rural homes.
