With the support of the Secretary of Education of Bogotá, the British Council evaluated the English language reading, writing, listening and speaking skills of nearly 1,500 15-year-old students attending 149 schools during 2017.
The results of these assessments are presented alongside information about language learning background and motivations for learning English, plus the relationship between these factors and current English language proficiency.
Stratification variables ensured a representative sample of students in urban and more rural areas, as well as those from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. Multi-group comparisons are presented alongside overall findings from the language assessment and questionnaire responses.
