Education Hubs’ primary aim is to give representatives of UK higher education, technical and vocational providers good quality information to inform decisions about their overseas activities. There is a global website and 6 regional hubs. Up until Feb 2024, the website saw the publication of 288 opportunities, 145 news posts, 32 reports, 27 blogs and 15 Market Intelligence Briefs. These insights are utilised by Education providers and regional and national influencers to make decisions. Engagement activities are delivered around the insights ranging from large events (such as the Going Global Conference) to private conversations between British Council staff and national political influencers. British Council staff cited examples of using insight to build more persuasive arguments with national education policy makers and updating stakeholders on trends in specific countries using hub-produced reports and market briefings. External stakeholders respected the British Council as an insights provider and they felt that the hubs reflected well on the reputation of the British Council more generally. For example, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) at a University Alliance HEP said that British Council insights are required by universities. The DVC trusted the data produced by British Council.
