Kampala dancers spent a week of intensive auditions and workshops this February in Kampala with Impact Dance (UK). 43 dancers took part in an audition process structured as a series of free workshops hosted at the National Theatre.
Artists from Uganda’s vibrant hip hop scene are now set to work with local young people in Brent from April 2019 as part of a creative exchange project building on a visit from Impact Dance Artistic Director Hakeem Onibudo in 2018.
Walter Ruva, Joana Nambalirwa and Hamza Pirimo (Uganda) and Ugandan hip hop ambassador Adbul ‘Abdanger’ Kinyenya, Artistic Director of Tabu Flo Dance Company will collaborate with Impact Dance and Kloe Dean (UK). Watch this space!
