East Africa Arts recently had a film masterclass in Kampala Uganda led by Head of Studies at the London Film School, Femi Kolade. The project was aimed at developing participants’ individual artistic voices and craft as filmmakers following on from the 2018 edition of the masterclass programme.

Over three days, the nine artists worked together to shoot an original three-page scene. Working from original scripts, participants were supported through the process of editing, review and feedback. The film shoots were held at two locations in Kampala city and included Maisha Garden and 32 Degrees East. The results were a range of dynamic and original creations that all received feedback from industry experts including Head of Kampala Film School Cristiano Civitillo.
